Combining elements of Soul, Funk, and R&B - Delbert & The Commotionsʼ debut album entitled ʻLet Me See Ya Danceʻ shows influences by such artists as Stevie Wonder, The Funk Brothers, and Bruno Mars. The band prides itself in having an eclectic mix of songs on their record, from soul, funk, rap, and even a bit of disco.
Co-led by Canadian saxophonist/songwriter Brian Asselin and Detroitʼs Delbert Nelson - these two have put together twenty-one Canadian musicians to create an exciting project that will keep you smiling and dancing from the beginning to the end.
Brian met Delbert six years ago while touring with the Funk Brothers sharing the stage with such artists as The Four Tops, and Mary Wilson. During that time, the two performers talked about writing a record together resulting in a collaboration that would bring Delbert up to Canada to write and record the album. Together with other Canadian songwriters David Gaw, and Steve Berndt; the band, Delbert & The Commotions, was formed.
“You guys got the sound. The band is tight and Delbert is singing in his element. Iʼm with you guys 100 percent.” (Eddie Willis, Grammy Award winner / guitarist of The Funk Brothers)"
